The return
Many thanks to all that have left kind comments, constructive critique and notes of encouragement. I am not leaving but I find myself at a junction point of image making. This image is of a style that I like, I may follow my heart and explore this route further, but I am also seeking new avenues! I will be away for 6-8 weeks. all the best. mal

Good fortune and joy on your quest. Following your heart sounds like an excellent plan.
Tis beautiful. Looking forward to your return.
Your title is hopeful, Mal. If anyone finds what they're looking for, it will be you. I wish you the best.
Love this photo, Mal. You are the master of this type of image.

Huh, no Mal for 6-8 weeks, life as we know it will not be the same
All the best Mal. Beautiful capture.
I had the opportunity to play with my ND filter and some water while in China. I'll keep practising.
Tis beautiful, good luck on your quest.
Stay cool, don't force it, and the camera will jump out the bag when the time and subject is right- just enjoy looking and feasting your eyes anew- good luck! D.
Mal, all the best on your journey...I am sure you will find what you are looking for...walk on tall.....and things will come to a good end, love the sea...never get bored by looking at it..
All the best for you too.

This is definitely your style Mal. Have a good break
You'll find a market for work of this quality Mal. Hope things work out how you want them too. Chris
Life's so dry without Mal in town I must admit.
Change is good! Enjoy your exploration. I am looking forward to what you will bring back.
An astonishingly striking photograph.
Good luck Mal - I'm sure you will find what you are looking for. Thanks too for all your comments over the past 12 months. Take care mate, David.
I will look forward with great interest with your return. In the meantime your young pupil will have to post some more slow hand shots. This one is almost high speed for you Mal and I really like it
Best of luck to you Mal. Looking forward to see the result of your explorations!
Well...we'll miss you. Come back with a bang ok!?
Good luck!
I will miss to you, Mal! That you have much luck and fortune where you go! I wait for the results to the return!
DIDNT SEE THIS ONE MAL,BUT SNAP.HAVE A GOOD BREAK.
I like
Cool pic as always. Hope your sojourn bears fruit, Mal.
Don't think too hard, let your camera do the talking
Looking at the last two photos I thought and had the feeling as if you almost would have found a new way of photographing, and Ilike these pics very much. The atmosphere of this sea-sky-pic is also very beautiful, an experience of powerful nature and loneliness like on the first days of creation, only the water looks a bit like cotton, not so natural-glittering as it in reality does. But please don't pay attention to my words, for I'm a 'bloody' lay-woman (Laie). I wish you all the best, be lucky and sometimes be happy!
It is a style that I like as well. I see tim is now doing similar with excellent results, but in my mind he has his own brand to the idea - which is good.
Another great pic.
Wonde Very beautiful shot. rful
Hi Mal
I await with some degree of anxiousness for your new images.
Good job.
This is the Epic image, mal.
It speaks of Ulysses, and the pull of travel and adventure in other places. Taming the mighty sea though, by placing it in perpetual slow-motion, makes it pretty but has no effect on the march of time.
8 weeks! ... that's a bummer Mal.
excellent shot Mal.
All the best! Don't stay away too long! Love the mysterious feel I get form this photo. Great shot!
Good grief, haven't I made a comment on this yet? - I keep popping my head in to see if your'e back yet...
I can see why you're pleased wih this image - I would instantly look at this and see that you have taken it - it's a style you have down to a T. Whatever you're off for, I hope you find inspiration, and I also hope you take your camera! If peoples words o your blog are a small fraction of the inspiration you give to others, I'm sure you'll be back. Good times, Mal
Don't you dare changing your style...!
Seriously: extending, diversifying, building on your current style... great. But abandoning it? No, please don't. It would be a real loss for all of us. You already have a more personal, richer style than most of us. Anyway, whatever you will come up with, I guess it's going to be something to look forward to. Best of luck! Thomas
You're the master at this sort of thing Mal, but it will be interesting to see where your new avenues take you.
Hope you have a great break Mal. Shall miss your images in the meantime and look forward to your return.
Mal, I love all of your images. No matter where they take you. I wish I could pick up this technique, as it looks a bit challenging. yet you pull it off as easily as a peel on a banana.
